Onward Holdings expects busy time at Multimodal

UK logistics exhibition Multimodal is back at the NEC Birmingham this year on October 19-21 and Onward Holdings Ltd will be exhibiting on stand 5089 waving the flag for Yorkshire for those businesses seeking a storage and distribution foothold in the north of England.

The intervening time since Multimodal 2019 has been challenging to say the least. The UK’s logistics infrastructure, already under pressure due to the impact of Brexit and the dramatic growth of online shopping, suddenly went into overdrive as the Covid-19 pandemic struck and the country went into lockdowns with restrictions on economic activity.

However, as restrictions ease and businesses bounce back from the aftershock of the pandemic, quality warehousing in prime locations is still in short supply – Onward has seen a constant increase in demand for its warehousing close to the transport network.

Along with logistics facilities for storage and distributing across Yorkshire, family-run Onward Holdings also supplies value-added services including 3PL managed warehousing, such as Pallet Storage, Container Emptying, Order Picking and Reworking – all controlled by its Managed Warehouse System. Suitable for both durable cargo and ambient food storage, long and short-term leases are available.

Onward Holdings’ director, Neil Storey, said: “Multimodal is the perfect platform to help businesses keep track of the latest logistics technology. With continued demand from every angle in the marketplace, expanding on-site pallet capacity through narrow aisle racking can also play a crucial role in warehouse productivity.”

Iain McPhail, partner at Knight Frank of Leeds and Andrew Miller of Andrew Miller Chartered Surveyors are advising Onward Holdings.
