As Goplasticpallets.com’s plastic pallet recycling scheme celebrates its one-year anniversary this month, The Responsible Plastic Pallet Company reveals those counties that are recycling the most of their used plastic pallets and boxes.

Those counties that are recycling the most of their used plastic pallets and boxes.

Goplasticpallets.com has helped companies from more than 20 different counties recycle their used plastic pallets and boxes with five of these counties totalling in excess of 20 tonnes of plastic waste each, including Buckinghamshire, Cheshire, Essex, Hertfordshire and West Yorkshire. West Yorkshire has recorded the highest volume of plastic waste recycled at 40 tonnes, followed by Hertfordshire (34 tonnes) and Buckinghamshire (32 tonnes).

Since making its recycling pledge 12 months ago, promising to recover and recycle all of the plastic pallets and boxes it supplies to customers, Goplasticpallets.com has recycled a staggering 251 tonnes of plastic waste.

Jim Hardisty, Managing Director of Goplasticpallets.com, said: “When we launched our recycling scheme a year ago, we set out with the mission of helping create more sustainable supply chains by ensuring all of the plastic pallets and boxes we supply are responsibly recycled at the end of their use.

“This first year, we feel we’ve made great strides in educating our customers about the recyclability of our products, in an effort to encourage as many customers as possible to sign up to our recycling scheme.

“This started with the launch of our Responsibility campaign in February last year, which we’re delighted has been heavily supported by the trade press.

“As part of the campaign we appointed a Recycling Advisor to answer customers questions and handle the logistics of recovering their unwanted plastic pallets and boxes and returning them to our recycling facility in Belgium. In the autumn, we then introduced a new section to our website to allow customers to more easily sign up to our recycling scheme by completing a simple form.

“As a progressive company, we’ve always believed in aiming high and this year we’re aiming to double our recycling total.”
