FedEx Express hands new emergency response unit to Salvation Army

On 9 October, 2023, FedEx Express will donate a new emergency response unit to the Salvation Army in the UK.

When a disaster strikes, whether it is a flood or a fire, this emergency response unit will help The Salvation Army in its mission to serve the community and support the Emergency Services and affected communities when major incidents occur. The unit's day-to-day work will be to serve the Kent and Sussex area, and it will also be available to help in any large emergency elsewhere in the UK.

The Salvation Army is a worldwide church and charity, operating in 132 countries across the globe. In the UK they are active in the heart of over 600 communities, addressing some of society’s most serious challenges.

The donation reflects a wider FedEx commitment to the international work of The Salvation Army Emergency and Disaster Response Services.  FedEx has already donated 22 Emergency Services Response Units around the world since 2006.

The donation is part of the company’s broader FedEx Cares program under our Delivering for Good program which lends its global network and unparalleled logistics expertise to organisations with mission-critical needs in times of disaster and to help communities heal, learn, and thrive.
