Brake offers free webinar on the addressing fleet driver attitudes

Brake, the road safety charity, is running an essential webinar for fleet managers and road safety professionals on investigating crashes and near-misses to mitigate and manage risk to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Brake's latest webinar, A positive mental attitude: driver attitudes and state of mind, sponsored by Teletrac Navman, is an opportunity to hear from experts on how to identify different concerns and at-risk drivers after a collision.

With a panel of expert industry and academic speakers, the webinar will highlight the importance of data collection in reducing road risk, and will discuss different methods of mitigating risk, including psychometric testing and welfare policies. The training is an ideal opportunity to hear from experts in the field, as well as a case study review showing how to implement a policy procedure from this information all while taking different income levels and available resources into account.

The webinar will be delivered by Brake Professional, Brake's low-cost membership service for professionals working in the field of fleet safety. Brake Professional shares training, tools, and guidance on global fleet safety best practice with its members, as well as networking and development opportunities. The webinar takes place on Wednesday 11 October. Attendance is free.

Amy Williamson, professional engagement co-ordinator at Brake, said: "Knowing how and why a crash may have happened can help companies reduce the risk of similar incidents in the future. We're thankful to Teletrac Navman for support in organising this event, as training like this is vital to fleet managers – or anyone supervising at-work drivers. By identifying trends of concern and utilising these profiles, organisations can begin to mitigate risk and prevent similar incidents in the future."

Peter Millichap, UK marketing director of Teletrac Navman, said: "There is great synergy between Teletrac Navman and Brake, so we're really pleased to be working together to promote and reinforce our joint ethos of safer driving in the upcoming webinar . It's a fantastic opportunity for us to talk to fleet managers about how they can get the best out of telematics from a safety perspective, by monitoring their drivers' performance to build a clear picture of how they behave, which in turn will allow them to address, rectify and improve any driver behaviour issues and keep fleets, and other road users, as safe as possible."
