City Link wins safety award for fourth consecutive year

City Link has been presented with a Gold Award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents. It is the fourth year running the company has received the accolade in recognition of its continued high standards of health and safety practice within the workplace. Judges highlighted the company for its stringent internal health and safety management systems.

To win the award City Link had to meet an exacting set of criteria. Experts looked at the company's accident records and the health and safety management systems in place at the various depots across the country. Strong leadership and workforce involvement forms a strong part of the RoSPA award.

Karen Farr, Head of Health, Safety and the Environment at City Link, said: "We are proud to have achieved Gold status in the RoSPA Awards for the fourth year running.
"Health and safety among our employees is always at the forefront of our minds here at City Link and good health and safety practice forms an integral part of the work ethic we aim to instill in each and every one of our employees so it becomes second nature in their everyday work.

"We believe this is why the company has been so successful in the awards for the past four years. Not one to rest on our laurels, we aim to win the award for a fifth consecutive year next year!"

David Rawlins, Awards Manager at RoSPA, added: "The RoSPA Awards programme provides well-deserved recognition for the winners and spurs on other organisations to raise their standards of accident and ill-health prevention. We congratulate City Link on its success and encourage it, and all our other winners, to remain committed to safety and health, an approach that is well recognised to be good for workers and the bottom line."

The award was presented in a recent ceremony at the Birmingham Metropole Hotel.
