Potter Group Logistics joins Palletline

Palletline PLC has welcomed Potter Group Logistics to its palletised distribution network. Potter Group Logistics acquired Palletline member House of James Transport Ltd, the York-based logistics and pallet network operator recently. In a unanimous decision, the Palletline board voted to extend membership to the firm, which specialises in regulated logistics services.

Kevin Buchanan, Managing Director of Palletline, said: "Potter Group Logistics is a major player in the industry. The company is renowned for exemplary warehousing and distribution services and will be a prestigious addition to Palletline PLC. We have enjoyed a very productive relationship with House of James Transport Ltd and look forward to building on our successes in this exciting new chapter."

Simon Gill, who was managing director of House of James, will remain with the combined businesses as commercial director.
During the last two years, five new member companies have joined Palletline, which is renowned both sides of the border for quality, reliability and customer service. Many member companies have more than doubled their volumes in less than 12 months after taking advantage of the newfound efficiencies and business opportunities afforded by membership.

Currently celebrating its 20th anniversary, Palletline revolutionised the market by creating an innovative 'hub and spoke' based system meaning that all freight to be transported outside of a distributor's local area is consolidated and sent to a central point before delivery to the customer. This model creates significant operational and environmental efficiencies, and reduces the cost of transporting smaller palletised shipments long distances ensuring it remains the industry benchmark today.
