The great transport & logistics biker meet launched in support of Transaid

Motorcycle enthusiasts from across the transport and logistics industry are invited to join the first-ever biker meet in support of Transaid, taking place at The National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham on Saturday 1 July 2017.

The Great Transport & Logistics Biker Meet is a ticket-only event giving participants the opportunity to meet like-minded colleagues, enjoy a delicious barbeque lunch, learn more about Transaid's work to transform lives through safe and sustainable transport, and have the chance to win some fantastic prizes – all while raising vital funds for Transaid.

Mike Daly, Non-Executive Director of Clipper Logistics and co-organiser of the meet, says: "This event is a fantastic opportunity for bikers from across the industry to get behind Transaid's life-saving programmes. Funds raised by events like these, help Transaid to continue its life-saving work and expand its projects further."

In many developing countries bicycles and motorcycles are a vital source of transportation and in Uganda, Transaid has been working with motorcycle taxi drivers – known as boda boda – to help facilitate better access to emergency maternal health services. In the last quarter of 2014 alone, more than 1,000 expectant mothers were able to deliver their babies at a healthcare facility, because of the system Transaid helped to put in place.

Tickets for the biker meet cost £120 – or £60 for pillion passengers – and include a sizable donation to Transaid, entry to the museum, barbeque lunch and a gift bag.
