Scania to showcase its Next Generation Trucks and advanced technology at FPS Expo 2017

Scania will be displaying a six-wheel tractor unit from its Next Generation Truck range on its stand, number 144, at FPS Expo 2017 (Liverpool Exhibition Centre, 10-11 May 2017). In addition, the company will be showcasing the range of advanced technology and solutions it offers in support of both its next generation and current model ranges.
The truck on display will be an R 450 6x2/2 lifting mid-axle model equipped with Scania's 450 horsepower Euro 6 engine, which has repeatedly broken fuel records in independent press tests conducted throughout Europe. As an all new model, Next Generation R-series Scania trucks have been redesigned from the ground up and represent today's state-of-the-art commercial vehicle. The vehicle on display has Scania's Highline cab, the largest option in the new model range. This features a range of innovative developments, including improved visibility, extended storage options and optional rollover curtain airbags integrated into the cab.
In support of operators in the petroleum supply industry, Scania provides a range of bespoke services designed to assure safety and compliance while maximising uptime. Included here are a comprehensive one-stop repair and maintenance service. plus all forms of tanker testing and certification to meet the industry's requirements, with all services carried out in approved workshops with full test and repair facilities. As part of its on-going commitment to continuous improvement, Scania constantly re-evaluates safe systems of working and practices for this ever more demanding industry sector.
With technology on vehicles becoming more and more complicated, Scania utilises operational data gathered by the onboard telematics system to offer a wide choice of service contract options with flexible maintenance plans specifically tailored to operators' needs, all of which include O-licence inspections and document filing for compliance.
The range begins with an entry-level support programme, Service Only, which although based on servicing alone also features an optional MOT package. Next up is Service Plus, where additional items can be added to the schedule.
A full Scania Repair and Maintenance programme delivers a complete service; MOT, full service schedule, the ability to add key components to the contract, Scania Assistance, MAX 24 breakdown cover (whereby operators are compensated if a vehicle is off the road for more than 24-hours), and full repair cover, including wear and tear.
In addition, specific requirements for petroleum operators, such as mandatory tank testing and SWL passes, can be incorporated into Scania's support programmes.
As Scania helps drive the shift towards sustainable transport solutions forward, contracts featuring flexible maintenance plans will become part of the routine in the same way as every other aspect of technology has integrated itself into our lives.
