Dr. Kurt Wolff Modernises Warehouse Logistics with inconso and SAP EWM

Dr. Kurt Wolff GmbH & Co. KG, an international cosmetics company, went live with a new warehouse management system at its site in Bielefeld, Germany. inconso implemented the new warehouse and material flow control based on SAP EWM and connected it to the existing, operational hardware landscape.

In Bielefeld, Dr. Kurt Wolff produces and distributes skin and hair care products as well as products for decorative cosmetics. Even today, these products are manufactured in the modern production plant in Bielefeld. Research, development, production and distribution are managed by the company under one roof.

In the future, the cosmetics company will use SAP EWM (Extended Warehouse Management) to manage manual and automatic warehouse areas at its site in Bielefeld. This includes a fully automated high bay warehouse with 4,500 locations as well as a container conveyor technology system, whose core consists of a picking carousel with eight Pick-by-Light stations. The integration of all technical components includes moreover the connection to the outside warehouse with about 6,000 locations.

The service scope for warehouse management and material flow control enables the direct implementation of the changing requirements of the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industry at any time. "For Dr. Kurt Wolff, the use of SAP EMW especially means increased transparency in the supply chain. Furthermore, inconso was able to successfully implement the system in the time agreed to," said Thomas Brzoska, Logistics Manager at Dr. Kurt Wolff.
