White Arrow Logistics selects Amethyst Systems for Warehousing IT Solution

Contract warehousing specialist White Arrow Logistics has chosen South West-based software developers Amethyst Systems to provide the IT system for a new warehouse management solution for one of the largest food retailers and manufacturers in the UK.
The warehouse management system (WMS) which recently went live, enables the product intake to regional distribution centres (RDC's) and onwards to stores to be consolidated, providing greater efficiency and lower costs.
White Arrow Logistics chose Amethyst Systems for its expertise in providing IT systems and interfaces within the logistics industry and the solution formed part of roll-out of a new local supplier consolidation strategy by the warehousing company.

The Amethyst team provided a web-based application that enabled multiple suppliers, across multiple consolidation centres to improve efficiencies associated with the holding, picking and movement of goods. Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services were used to provide powerful reporting through both the web application and automated email services, to allow efficient administration and a simple portal for supplier requests.
With years of software development experience for logistics businesses, Amethyst is able to provide software solutions, including a cost effective web-based delivery management system (Amethyst DMS), that meets the requirements of transport companies and logistics providers wishing to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
